Trillion health, wellness and fitness market.
DARREL PETERS is the former owner of Chicago (WCBR-FM 92.7) and Milwaukee (WFMR-FM 98.3)
radio stations. Peters sold WCBR in 1998 for a record amount.
He was founder of the "FM 100 Plan", a national radio syndication company specializing
in "beautiful music", that cleared over 262 markets on some of the best radio
stations across America including such giants as KOST-Los Angeles, FM100-Chicago,
WWJ-Detroit, WSB-Atlanta, and WWL-New Orleans. He eventually sold the company
to one of his competitors, Bonneville International, and stayed on
as their highly active consultant for 10 years. Peters was VP/General Manager
of FM100 in Chicago. Under his leadership, FM100was the #1 rated FM
station for nine years running. Peters graduated from Northwestern University
and got his start in broadcasting as a host on WAIT, WGN Radio and "NBC
Monitor"/WMAQ in Chicago. Always the visionary, in the pre-FM days of
the 1960’s, Peters sensed that the FM band would eventually flourish.
As a young entrepreneur fresh out of college, Peters leased out blocks of radio
station airtime on a then all but nonexistent FM band (93.9, now top rated
WLIT-FM in Chicago). He programmed, hosted, developed advertising packages,
and creatively sold-out all the commercial avails. His programs were so successful;
he eventually leased out the entire radio station.
TIM DISA has been a successful radio talk show personality, station
manager, and radio entrepreneur. He has been "on-air" at many great Chicago stations. He’s
worked for Tribune Company Broadcasting, Westinghouse Broadcasting’s classic
Chicago talker WIND, the famous WLS, and he and his marriage
partner, Beth, hosted one of the most revered "comedy-talk" shows on the infamous WLUP-AM
1000 (The LOOP) in Chicago working side-by-side with such other industry
notables as Jonathon Brandmeier and Steve Dahl. Disa attended Marquette University
in Milwaukee, WI. He has consulted for Sporting News Radio Network, IDT Corporation,
CNET Radio, Talk Radio Network, Tribune Corporation-WGN, Radio Colorado Network,
Air America Radio, Infinity Broadcasting Chicago and others. As Operations
consultant for Darrel Peter’s former WCBR-FM, Disa developed some of
the most creative programming as well as sales and promotional packages in
Chicago. He is founder of HRN – Health Radio Network, an all health,
wellness and fitness talk radio network.
